TRAINING UNDER THE CRAFTSMEN TRAINING SCHEME

Training under this scheme is provided in engineering and non-engineering trades of one or two year duration, to the trainees above 14 years ( no upper age limit )as on august 1st, this year. The upper age limit is relaxed in the case of Scheduled Caste trainees. The educational qualifications for admission vary depending on the trades. All India Trade Tests are conducted by the Director General of Employment and Training and National Trade Certificates are awarded to the successful trainees on behalf of the NCVT. This certificate has been recognised by the Government of India for recruitment to relevant subordinate posts in all the Central/ State Government organisations. Periodical inspections are carried out for evaluation of standards and quality of training and for taking remedial measures, as required.

ALL INDIA TRADE TEST

All India Trade Tests are conducted by the National Council for Vocational Training, for the award of National Trade Certificates to those trainees who qualify for the test. All India Trade Test is held, once in a year, in the month of July, in engineering as well as non-engineering trades. Supplementary trade test is conducted in January / February, every year

PROVISIONAL CERTIFICATES AND NATIONAL TRADE CERTIFICATES

Provisional Certificates by the Industrial Training Department, Kerala State will be issued soon after the results of the Trade Test. National Trade Certificates also will be awarded to the trainees by the National Council for Vocational Training.

ALL INDIA SKILLS COMPETITION

In order to foster a spirit of healthy competition among the trainees of the various Industrial Training Institute and Industrial Training Centres, with a view to raise the standard of skill the scheme of holding All India Skill Competition was started from 1964.

Kerala Government Certificate Examination Courses in Engineering

Admission Requirments

The minimum qualification for admission to the courses of Kerala Government Certificate Examination in Engineering is X th class with eligibility for higher studies. Age of candidates to the 1st year class as on 1st July of this year should not be below 14 years and above 25 years. However, upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for Scheduled Caste candidates.
